I...

am playing Mom today. I took a day off so Tara could do some job hunting stuff she wanted to do and just have a break from the baby and being mommy all the time. So far, it hasn't been too bad. The baby didn't want to eat breakfast at first but then he devoured his oatmeal and wanted to play. Usually he takes a bottle and goes right to sleep again after breakfast according to T, but today he wanted to lay so I put him in his bouncer and let him bounce. He's quite the active baby and usually in the mornings T would put him in his walker and let him scoot himself all around the kitchen. When we first started putting him in the walker he could only push himself backwards but he's finally gotten the hang of pushing himself forward. We have to watch him pretty closely now because he's trying to get into everything now.

Right now the little man is asleep on the couch. He got fussy after a while and I set him down with his bottle but he still didn't want to sleep. He loves standing and sitting up and doing anything that we adults do. I figured I should let him sit up with his bottle so I propped him up on the pillow and let him watch tv with me, where he promptly fell asleep still half sitting and leaning against his pillow.

I love being a dad.

Aw, very sweet! I'm glad T is getting some time to herself. That's very important for mommies.

And I'm glad you are spending some grown up time with the baby. Good memories are in the making.
