Every day

When you first get married there is this high of not being able to believe that you are finally with the one you are meant to be with. Then the wait starts for that feeling to tail off.

Everyday when I wake up and then more throughout the day, I am reminded again and again of how wonderful the woman in my life is and why I love her so much and wouldn't have wanted to spend another day without her.

I love you honey. You are beautiful and kind and surprise me more and more everyday.

We are Family

I only got one sister so can't sing "I got all my sisters and me" but I do have a wife and kid. Over the weekend I drove up to WVa and moved my wife and stepson down to Atlanta. They are officially here to stay and we are living as one big happy family. It's been a long time since my house has felt so alive or since I looked forward to going home at the end of the day from work. It's been a good 5 years since I had a 24/7 kid at home for the first time in 4.5 years so it's going to be a learning experience all over again. Right now he's still between calling me Dad sometimes and Steve others and either is really ok with me, it's just nice to see how wide his smile gets and that twinkle in his eye when I come through the door.

I dont think I have tell anyone how wonderful or beautiful my wife is. This morning she said she'd make me a sandwich to take to work and when I opened my lunch, I found two delicious sandwiches, some pringles (my favorite) and desert chocolates waiting for me. I would have been ok with just a sandwich since I've never taken much or eaten much before but the obvious love she put into it just made my heart melt all the more.

We're still in the process of unpacking and rearranging things in the house but we're officially open for visitors so next time you're popping thru Atlanta, feel free to give the Syren's a shout and sit a spell.

Quick Update

What a busy week this has been. Had an awesome time with Boohoo and Nookie on tuesday. They are both just too sweet and cute for words. I forgot the camera so we'll have to wait for them to post pics but a great time was had by all.

2 days and I'll be a happily married man. I can't wait. Tonight we're still up cleaning the house before her parents arrive tomorrow with Ryan. 2 more days.

Five Days

Wow, wow, wow 5 days till I become Mr. Syren. I know she hates when I call myself that as she'd prefer to be Mrs. CSTL but I like it. I think it has a great ring to it. We're the Syrens.

We're the CSTL's?? Doesn't quite have the same ring. Speaking of rings, I can't wait to get mine Saturday. Ha, the bride is supposed to be the one that can't wait to get her wedding ring. Our's has been an untraditional relationship all the way so it was no biggie to us that we picked out our rings together, picked out her dress together, went and got her sized and fitted for her dress together. Our tag line throughout the engagement process has always been Together. So of course we were together when we got my ring and it's cool (I'd say it's beauuutiful which it is but guys dont say that kinda thing). I liked it so much I wanted to start wearing it that day but she said I'd have to wait until the wedding. Of course , R wanted a ring too and we found one very much in the same style as ours but much cheaper ($9.99 for 3) that I can present to him on our wedding day also. Now I just have to talk to the minister and figure out how we'll work it into the proceedings. Like I said we're about as untraditional as they get but we get each other.

Our relationship has always been an extension of our profound friendship so the enormity of everything has been slow to hit me. But this morning as I was getting ready for work and she was questioning my tie and socks, it really hit me. This is what it's going to be like and I was happy. Just so very very happy. I kissed my wife goodbye and headed off to work with the usual honey I forgot or honey watch out for the garage door and honey you forgot calls on my way to work.

5 days and I'm nervous and all that other stuff too but we're already one and I can't wait to make it official.
