WTF?

The bible says let he without sin cast the first stone. Conventional wisdom says those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones at others. BUT BUT BUT , for all the stupid things I've ever done and all the mistakes I've ever made, I was just completely floored this past weekend by one of my best friends. It only came to light to me last year that he was unhappy in his marriage and then this year that his wife apparently is too. It's one thing to be unhappy in your marriage and make the mistake that many make of cheating. That's forgiveable for some, maybe not for others but usually leads to discussions of what has caused the issues and either counsuling to resolve or divorce or separation to finalize.

It's a totally different thing to carry on an affair for months with a co-worker in almost plain view of all. It didn't take long for people to start noticing a pattern. Even worse is when during that affair , you invite your girlfriend to your house multiple times when you are having social functions with your wife and kids. And the straw that breaks the camels back???????? As much as I would try to understand as a friend and not condem while not condoning his actions, it's just disgusting beyond belief to invite your mistress to your house while you have friends and other co-workers there and then lock yourselves in a bathroom while everyone wonders where you are. I could care less how drunk either of you were, she should never have been there in the first place.

Am I glad he got caught? You better beleive it but I would never ever have wanted his wife to find out that way. It's just unimagineable and I'm a guy with a pretty creative imaginiation. I am deeply ashamed of my friend and hurt for his wife, who is also our friend.

Been doing some catching up here in your blog!

As I have gotten older I tend to have the same attitude as you, live and let live. But I agree that your friend really should not have brought the girlfriend into his home like that.

Your friend seems to be really tied up in something that is hard to explain. Who knows, his wife may have been living with it to keep him and the marriage.

People live out their lives in strange ways in order to appear normal. Is that truly healthy? If you have children in your home, no way.

I hope things get better on the friends front Steve. Thanks for the call on Mom's day too!!

smooches to Tara for me!
